Of the Mother Tongue

The work features pages from archives belonging to the artist’s family. The images depict handwritten notes, English lessons taken by the artist’s grandmother in colonially occupied India during the 1920s. The iridescent blue pages contain inscriptions that repeat over the series, gradually collapsing into one another as one indecipherable palimpsest of words.
